About the Position

The Head of Department – Web LATAM is a leadership role and will be accountable for the largest delivery competency in DISTILLERY. She/he will be responsible for delivery of Web development services from the LATAM region. Reporting to the Head of Global Technology Delivery, this role will be responsible for competency development in the web and cloud services, mentor and train employees and leaders in the LATAM web competency, provide guidance to the managers in their respective sub competencies as well as organizational process. Development of go to market... strategy and assistance in Sales process in technical contribution is an essential responsibility of this role. She/He will be a SME in the web development area and should have deep knowledge of various technologies in the web development space, not limited to Back End, Front End, Full Stack and Cloud Computing. This role will also be responsible for development further competencies in the Data driven landscape including Machine Learning, AI, Data Science, Big Data etc.

Responsibilities
• Develop and Implement competency development strategy working with Managers and Head of Global Technology Delivery.
• Closely work with Sales Directors, as a Technical SME in engaging with client, solutioning and supporting the Pre-Sales activity.
• Mentor and Guide Managers and allocate them into each sub competency and help them to be accountable to their sub-competency tower.
• Work with Account Teams and proactively identify opportunities of Value add and solution development enabling positive business outcome for clients.
• Collaborate with Account Teams in identifying, scheduling, and driving Technology Workshops based on client needs.
• Support Distillery Marketing team by driving Sales and Marketing artifact development working with the competency leaders.
• Enable a culture of documentation in the organization.
• Work collaboratively with rest of competency heads to design and develop SDLC policies, procedures, and templates for Distillery Projects.
• Provide Delivery oversight and guidance for any Managed Services/Fixed Scope projects.
• Stay close to the deployable resource pool for the Web Competency and assist Resource Management team to allocate the right resources to open positions.
• Work with Stack Managers and Team Leads to continuously update the Automated questionnaire tool (interview) for various stacks. Include questionnaire for new and emerging technologies that are in demand.
• Assist Recruitment Team in definition of Job Description for various positions
• Prepare competency wide teams for conducting interviews and also participate in conducting interviews based on the need.
• People Management responsibilities for direct reports and also be available and reachable for the rest of web competency team.
• Provide thought leadership to internal and external stakeholders and engage in a consulting role (billable) for client engagements.

Requirements
• In addition to the development background, 10+ years of minimum experience in a Senior Development Leadership role including web and cloud technologies.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Experience in a consulting or service-based organization, driving outcomes, developing, and selling service-based competencies in App/web Development, Cloud computing and Data Driven solutions.
• Strong experience in transforming opportunities to Sales by engaging with customer as an SME in the area of technology.
• Proven track record of driving Project based engagements exceeding customer expectations as well as managing a team to drive Staff Augmentation based engagements.
• Experience working in a process-oriented environment using SDLC practices and principles with a strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall process.
• Strong knowledge in collaboration tools (ex. Atlassian products) and experience in guiding team and establishing a process framework.
• Hands-on experience with most common web technologies, not limited to .NET and Java stack, front end technologies, Design concepts, Architecture consulting, Cloud Technologies (one of them - Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Excellent awareness of Data driven projects (ETL, Big Data , ML, AI, Data science etc.)
• Experience managing a large team with varying skillsets through direct and indirect reports.
• Preferably from Mexico (Mexico City) or Argentina (Cordoba or Buenos Aires) location.
